Chief Technology Officer Tecovas

Kevin Harwood is a technology executive with over 15 years of experience building and scaling technology organizations at high growth direct to consumer brands. Known for his hands on leadership style and builder mentality, he has led teams through periods of rapid expansion, complex platform transformations, and omnichannel evolution, with a consistent focus on using technology to drive business growth and operational efficiency.

Kevin currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Tecovas, the Austin based Western boot, apparel and accessories brand. In this role, he oversees the company’s technology strategy and team as Tecovas continues its expansion across e commerce, retail, and wholesale channels. Under his leadership, the technology organization has driven significant platform transformations, implemented RFID and inventory innovations, and built the infrastructure to support the brand’s omnichannel growth. He is also leading AI adoption across the business, staying hands on with the rapidly evolving landscape to identify and implement practical applications that drive results.

Prior to Tecovas, he spent six years at Outdoor Voices, rising from Senior Director to Vice President of Technology. During his tenure, he built and scaled the technology team through a period of significant brand growth, leading e commerce platform development and DTC infrastructure initiatives that supported the company’s rapid expansion.

Earlier in his career, he spent five years at Mutual Mobile, an emerging technology agency, where he rose to iOS Consulting Architect. There, he led engagements for Nike and Under Armour in the retail, e commerce, and digital space, along with projects spanning health and fitness, wearables, and connected home. This work honed his expertise in building consumer facing digital experiences for iconic brands. He also contributed to the open source developer community, establishing a foundation of technical credibility that continues to inform his leadership approach.

He brings deep expertise in e commerce platforms, ERP systems, RFID technology, data warehousing, and third party logistics partnerships. A recognized thought leader in the Shopify ecosystem, he serves as a member of Shopify’s Merchant Advisory Board. He is also a frequent speaker on technology and business growth, having presented at CES, NRF, and numerous industry podcasts and conferences, including appearances on TBPN.

Beyond his role at Tecovas, he serves as Chair of the Central Texas CIO group and sits on the board of Camp 2911, a nonprofit providing camp experiences for children in foster care in Central Texas. He also advises startups and high growth companies on technology strategy.

He earned his Bachelor of Wireless Engineering from Auburn University, where he was also honored as a 20 under 40 Alumni in 2024.
