Evan Smith
Co-Founder & CEO Ethosphere
Evan Smith is the CEO and Co-Founder of Ethosphere, a voice-AI solution providing personalized coaching to retail associates, insights to store managers and visibility to brands.
Before launching Ethosphere, Evan was with Starbucks for seven years. Evan began as a leader on the corporate strategy team, where he began the Starbucks delivery business and moved to serve as delivery’s first General Manager. From delivery, he moved to the technology team, where he spent 3.5 years as Vice President for Technology Strategy.
Prior to Starbucks, Evan worked for a pair of e-comm startups in San Francisco and New York, respectively. He joined these companies after time as an Engagement Manager with McKinsey and Company.
Before moving into retail, Evan began his career in education. He was first a high school social studies teacher in the New Orleans Public Schools, before serving a variety of operational roles with the D.C. Public Schools
Evan holds a B.A. in Urban Studies and American History from the University of Pennsylvania, an MPhil from Cambridge University (U.K.) and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Most critically, he plays bass guitar in Seattle’s premier a dad rock cover band, Good Lettuce and the Hallpasses.
