Gabrielle Fonrouge is an award-winning journalist covering the retail beat for CNBC across its digital and broadcast platforms. She covers specialty retailers, DTC brands and emerging companies with a focus on investigative and enterprise stories.
Fonrouge’s work often focuses on the intersection of retail, politics and finance and she enjoys diving deep into the strategies that are causing companies to both win and lose customers. She’s reported on a wide array of popular consumer companies, including stories about the rise of Shein, Peloton’s turnaround and Bed Bath & Beyond’s bankruptcy.
Prior to joining CNBC, Fonrouge was a national correspondent and investigative reporter at the New York Post where she reported from Germany, Puerto Rico, the southern border of Mexico and just about every pocket of the U.S. Her work has changed laws and garnered a series of awards.
Fonrouge graduated summa cum laude from St. John’s University with a degree in mass communications and a minor in social justice.
