Rewriting the growth playbook: How Zip is powering smarter shopper conversion

As consumer confidence and checkout behavior continue to shift, traditional growth tactics are no longer enough to drive conversion. In this session, Zip shares insights from research with over 500 short-term payment users to examine how shoppers actually use flexible payment options for everyday and essential purchases.
The discussion explores how payment timing, flexibility, and control influence purchase confidence, drawing on findings that show customers value convenience, faster payoff, and cash-flow management over long-term affordability. Research reveals that shoppers most often use shorter payment plans for everyday spend like groceries, bills, and food, while reserving longer plans for higher-ticket purchases — highlighting how different payment options serve distinct buying moments rather than competing with one another.
Attendees will also learn how conversion behavior changes when short-term options aren’t available: 95% of users say they would use Pay in 2 again, and most would still complete their purchase using another Zip payment option rather than abandon checkout. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how payment design can reduce hesitation at checkout and practical ways to align payment options to real shopper buying moments.
